IAPB 2030 IN SIGHT LIVE

Wednesday 2nd – Thursday 3rd March 2022 , Hybrid Event, Dubai World Trade Centre and Online

IAPB 2030 In Sight Live was a two day event hosted in Dubai and virtually. More than 550 attendees joined the discussions from all over the world in person or virtually.

“2030 IN SIGHT: The challenge has never been greater – nor the opportunity – to achieve a world where eye care and rehabilitation services are accessible, affordable, and inclusive to all​.”

It has been over two years since IAPB were able to gather as colleagues, friends and as a community due to the global pandemic. The team continued to come together online and worked from home. During this time IAPB launched a new sector strategy, 2030 In Sight. This new strategy builds on the successes of Vision 2020 and sets a radical ambition. By 2030, IAPB want a world where no-one experiences unnecessary or preventable sight loss, and everyone can achieve their full potential. Where eye care and rehabilitation services are accessible, inclusive, and affordable to everyone, everywhere, whenever they are needed. And a world where everyone in the world understands the importance of caring for their own eye health and demand access to services, free from the weight of social stigma.

Leaders, innovators and change makers, colleagues from across the eye health sector and beyond, joined to help build a shared understanding of the systemic change needed in countries, regions, sectors, and mindsets, and to develop collective knowledge, best practice, and new approaches to elevate the issue of eye health, integrate it into wider health systems and activate demand from the ground up ​and, above all, to match their ambition with action.

2030 IN SIGHT LIVE! aimed to bring together the best of an IAPB Council of Members meetings, enabling attendees to create new connections and meet old friends, share insights and develop new ideas and learning alongside a new format. This included an interactive online programme making it easier than ever before to share knowledge, spark meaningful conversations and build relationships no matter where you are in the world.

The MYT Events team provided this Hybrid event with full support on Programme and Delegate Management as well as onsite support in Dubai and virtually. The MYT team worked in collaboration with the Mann Made | Media and Events Company to ensure the smooth run of the program onsite and on the virtual platform, Hopin.

Within less than 3 months since the beginning of the project the team successfully delivered the event overcoming issues such as changing Covid-19 restrictions for travel, short turn around times for speaker rehearsals for more than 60 speakers, matching AV requirements for Hybrid event delivery within venue with platform requirements and much more. We were more than delighted to read such a positive event feedback from all event stakeholders:
