Wednesday 2nd – Thursday 3rd March 2022 , Hybrid Event, Dubai World Trade Centre and Online

IAPB 2030 In Sight Live was a two day event hosted in Dubai and virtually. More than 550 attendees joined the discussions from all over the world in person or virtually.

“2030 IN SIGHT: The challenge has never been greater – nor the opportunity – to achieve a world where eye care and rehabilitation services are accessible, affordable, and inclusive to all.”

It has been over two years since IAPB were able to gather as colleagues, friends and as a community due to the global pandemic. The team continued to come together online and worked from home. During this time IAPB launched a new sector strategy, 2030 In Sight. This new strategy builds on the successes of Vision 2020 and sets a radical ambition. By 2030, IAPB want a world where no-one experiences unnecessary or preventable sight loss, and everyone can achieve their full potential. Where eye care and rehabilitation services are accessible, inclusive, and affordable to everyone, everywhere, whenever they are needed. And a world where everyone in the world understands the importance of caring for their own eye health and demand access to services, free from the weight of social stigma.

Leaders, innovators and change makers, colleagues from across the eye health sector and beyond, joined to help build a shared understanding of the systemic change needed in countries, regions, sectors, and mindsets, and to develop collective knowledge, best practice, and new approaches to elevate the issue of eye health, integrate it into wider health systems and activate demand from the ground up and, above all, to match their ambition with action.

2030 IN SIGHT LIVE! aimed to bring together the best of an IAPB Council of Members meetings, enabling attendees to create new connections and meet old friends, share insights and develop new ideas and learning alongside a new format. This included an interactive online programme making it easier than ever before to share knowledge, spark meaningful conversations and build relationships no matter where you are in the world.

The MYT Events team provided this Hybrid event with full support on Programme and Delegate Management as well as onsite support in Dubai and virtually. The MYT team worked in collaboration with the Mann Made | Media and Events Company to ensure the smooth run of the program onsite and on the virtual platform, Hopin.

Within less than 3 months since the beginning of the project the team successfully delivered the event overcoming issues such as changing Covid-19 restrictions for travel, short turn around times for speaker rehearsals for more than 60 speakers, matching AV requirements for Hybrid event delivery within venue with platform requirements and much more. We were more than delighted to read such a positive event feedback from all event stakeholders:

” I wanted to thank you and the team for the incredible support you provided. Without you and everyone at MYT, it wouldn’t have happened, let alone been the amazing success that it was. The feedback we’re getting is amazing – in part because it was the first time we’d been able to get people together in such a long time.”

The CEO of IAPB Closing Remarks

“Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart for all your brilliant hard work and endless commitment to IAPB.  Bringing people together so they connect, strengthen their bonds, share their ideas, collaborate and have the opportunity to feel part of something really important and truly global is at the heart of what IAPB does.  Since 2013 MYT has been our partner, at our side, making every meeting the very best it can be. With this meeting we really tested ourselves and took the convening might of IAPB to unprecedented levels.  On behalf of IAPB, of every member of staff, member of the organisation and every delegate thank you so much for all your superhuman efforts to ensure that everyone had a great time.  The feedback is tremendous and none of this would be possible without you.”

The Neglected Tropical Disease NGO Network was back for it’s 12th Annual Conference, and once again MYT were there to support the Network in the run-up to the event and onsite (virtually).

With 1000 attendees from 83 countries, the event ran over 2 platforms with 3 plenaries, 18 workshops and 2 networking sessions- this year’s event was the biggest one so far!

Sightsavers NTD’s-At-Home 2021

12th – 16th April 2021, Virtual

Sightsavers normally hold an internal NTD meeting each April, however this in 2021 this moved onto Zoom. Each of the main days involved small Breakout Groups working together to answer questions on an Jamboard Interactive Whiteboard, followed by informal Working Groups, open to all.

Many commented after the event, how interactive the sessions were and how this format allowed for discussion. The week lead towards a relaxed but very productive meeting.

The Carter Center Health Program Reviews 2021

“Each year The Carter Center hosts an annual peer review of our international health programs. Traditionally, hundreds of participants are brought to Atlanta for the event held over two weeks. Due to the effects of the pandemic, the 2021 event was held virtually. Given the challenges of operating across multiple time zones, and screen fatigue, we had to compress each day into 4 hours without compromising the quality of the engagement we would have had in a face to face meeting. Maximize Your Time (MYT) was hired to help us navigate the technical aspects of this undertaking. They built an event website and registration experience using software we currently had in place that was beyond anything we have ever had for the face to face experience. Having technical rehearsals with presenters and meeting chairs, prior to and the morning of the event made for seamless presentations and a professional final product that resulted in a very successful event. We do not have words to express our gratitude to their technical team whose professionalism, attention to detail, responsiveness and patience is above and beyond expectations.”

AMP Annual Partner’s Meeting 2021

MYT were involved in the building the Virtual Platform, speaker management, attendee management and on the day support.

PVS Spring 2021 Conference

Thursday 25th & Friday 26th March – Virtual Meeting

The interactive sessions of the PVS Spring Conference took place over two days at the end of March. The event featured 18 speakers in 8 sessions and over 100 attendees. MYT assisted with the conference website, attendee and speaker management and on the day delivery.

A few words about the event from PVS President Paul Thompson:

My thanks to the organising committee for putting on what I think is a varied and interesting conference with topics of interest to all. Once again Virtual conference arrangements have been organised by MYT, and by the organising committee. We are still feeling our way as to the best methods of running these and have taken on board the feedback from members regarding the last meeting. You will note changes we have made at this meeting which are aimed at facilitating questions and discussion in a format similar to our “normal” meetings and which enable delegates to concentrate on the speaker presentations whilst encouraging constructive discussions between lectures.

The Pig Veterinary Society (PVS) is a specialist division of the British Veterinary Association. The membership of PVS includes veterinary surgeons and scientists who work in the pig sector, and the Society aims to assist its members in their professional lives by ensuring they have access to the latest information with regards pig health and production. PVS also represents the membership at a national level, making sure that pig welfare is a priority considering the latest research with regards health and management on farm.

The UKAA Sustainability Summit 2021

It is always a pleasure to work with the UKAA and as leaders in the industry it was fantastic to be part of their Sustainability Summit. Hosted on Friday 12th March, this virtual event ran all day and was hosted on a brand-new Virtual Platform that was created by one of the UKAA Members – Unissu.

The day covered sessions that were focussed on the issues and opportunities that are shaping Build-To-Rent (and every real estate business) right now.

The sessions were split into three different channels, linked to the following themes: revolutionising sustainability, trends & opportunities and business and the community.

The event ran the day after the night before – with UKAA’s staff taking part in the Landaid’s Sleepout to Help Out which raised over £300,000 to help support young homeless people across the UK.

UN Friends of Vision: Vision for Everyone Event

MYT assisted the virtual logistics behind the United Nations Friends of Vision, which hosted the official launch of the Lancet Global Health Commission on Global Eye Health on 24 February 2021 at 08:30 EST. The report, prepared by an international group of eye health experts, provides the latest findings on the links between eye health and the Sustainable Development Goals, the economic case for eye health, its impact on quality of life and the range of forward-looking approaches to delivering vision for everyone.

The launch of the Lancet Commission on Global Eye Health comes as United Nations Member States debate the first UN General Assembly resolution on vision. The landmark resolution seeks to explicitly recognize the important contribution eye health can make to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals; and aims to motivate action by countries, the private sector, the UN and its institutions.

This high-level event brought together UN representatives and experts in the field of vision to discuss the findings of the Lancet and how to take them forward during the next decade of action and delivery on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Sightsavers Christmas Party 2020, Virtual

Thursday 17th December 2020

After a few months of Sightsavers Virtual Events, the year was finished with their annual Christmas Party, but this time it was Virtual! The Christmas Party Pixies has put together their ideas and MYT were delighted to assist with the logistics of the event.

During the Christmas Party, there was a quiz (would it be 2020 without one?), a photo competition, a Christmas headwear and Christmas Background competition and possibly the highlight of the evening: Sightsavers does Would I lie to you?

It was a pleasure to end the year with such a heart-warming and uplifting Christmassy event.
