Team Building Musical Extravagansa
MYT kicked off the year successfully with a large event for 230 delegates in Bristol
Held in two venues, the meeting started with registration at 8:30am in the Marriott Bristol City Centre. The meeting room was alive with conversations and all the delegates were a part of the relaunching of new expectations for the company.
With presentations from both the Vice President of Northern Europe and the President of Europe, Middle East and Africa, the afternoon sessions were expected to continue in a similar fashion to the morning. As delegates filled the room after lunch, they were asked to sit on specific tables, presumably for some work-related group work. As the Vice President began presenting on stage, delegates were not expecting their two-hour presentation to be interrupted by a group of drummers who burst into the room to stop all preconceptions of the afternoon’s meetings and to introduce everyone to a percussion-led p.m. of musical team-building.
Guided by MYT, delegates were taken to different areas of the hotel and worked on their own performances; flip flops, drain pipes and boomwhackers at the ready!
Meanwhile, and completely unaware to the delegates, ten minutes down the road Brunel’s Old Station was being magnificently transformed from a blank slate venue to a gorgeous evening gala area. Decked with two stages, a dancefloor, ready to accommodate the delegates for an evening.
Delegates were asked to change into black clothing and then headed off in a coach for the evening entertainment. The best kept secret was that they had to perform their drumming on stage for their colleagues to see.
After the performances and a delicious ‘street food’ style dinner, employees were recognised in the awards presentation towards the end of the night.
It was a long day and the event was a crescendo of months of work. The event was a huge success and will certainly be spoken about for years to come.
