Venue : The Vineyard Hotel
A little while ago we had the pleasure of visiting a local hotel called The Vineyard Hotel in Newbury. It is a cosy, friendly hotel with 49 lovely rooms and suites. The hotel is elegantly themed with a focus on delicious wine; from a giant corkscrew in reception to each bedroom being named after a unique bottle. The hotel has over 30,000-bottles of wine, some of which are from the owner’s vineyard in California.
In terms of meeting spaces, The Vineyard Hotel has three stylish and flexible meeting rooms, which can hold up to 140 people for a dinner, or 90 in cabaret. All the rooms have natural daylight, and can be used for a diverse range of events; from annual conferences, car launches to team building days. After your event, there is the possibility to take part in one of the hotel’s wine experiences, from private wine tasting, wine schools & tours of the underground wine vault – the glass ceiling is the ground floor in the reception, so you do get a sneaky preview when you arrive to check-in.
One feature of the hotel is the restaurant. 5 or 7 dish tasting menus are available, with each course perfectly matched to a specific wine chosen by the chef and sommelier to best compliment the course. One serving of wine comes in a black glass, to take away your preconceptions of colour and taste. The sommelier will then help to distinguish the grape and the region that the wine is from. The 3 AA Rosettes that the restaurant has been awarded are a testament to the chef and his culinary prowess. There would be no concern of the quality of food, and we are sure that any delegates would have an enjoyable and intimate evening dinner at the hotel. With an award-winning spa, you and your delegates will also be able to relax whilst you digest your dinner (and, of course, the wine).
Decorated with an eloquent art collection and painted tapestries, the hanging chandeliers brighten up the meeting rooms for a gorgeous dinner or meeting. Alternatively, they can be removed for a more business occasion.
Located just off the M4 corridor, the hotel is perfect for groups wanting to have a break away from the city, especially if you have a particular interest in wine!
