15th-18th September 2017, Kathmandu, Nepal
MYT was delighted to work again side by side with IAPB on their IAPB Council of Members (COM).
The IAPB COM is the annual high-level policy summit dedicated to the elimination of the main causes of avoidable blindness and visual impairment. The Council took place in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 17-18 September, preceded by the IAPB Work Groups, Committees, and Board meetings on 15-16 September.
Kathmandu played host to IAPB members and stakeholders from across the world. The delegates had the opportunity to hear about the WHO’s World Report on Vision, celebrate our Eye Health Heroes, listen to updates from the IAPB partners across the South Asia region and more.
The South East Asia (SEA) Day was attended by nearly 300 delegates from over 70 organisations. There were strong commitments made from all stakeholders: IAPB members, Health officials and International partners. The common theme was to find ways to bridge the gaps for better eye care service delivery in the region.
The event sparked various opportunities for networking and future partnerships and collaboration.
An overview of the Exhibition opportunities is featured on the IAPB’s Standard List Blog and we are delighted that it includes feedback on the MYT support throughout the event.
